London, 11th September 2018 – Data privacy and risk management company Egress Software Technologies today announced that its CEO and Co-founder, Tony Pepper, has been named one of The LDC 50 Most Ambitious Business Leaders for 2018 in the ‘World Beaters’ category.
LDC is the private equity arm of Lloyds Banking Group. Founded in 1981, the company has a 35-year track record of success and has invested £4bn in more than 550 companies.
Over the last few years, LDC has showcased some of the UK’s best and boldest firms. This year, the company decided to focus in on the ambitious leaders themselves. Supported by The Telegraph, this new initiative recognises those inspiring individuals running the UK’s most successful medium-sized businesses.
Tony co-founded Egress in 2007 and has served as the company’s CEO since its formation. Executing against his strategic vision, Egress has rapidly matured over the last 11 years from start up, to scale up, to hyper-growth. Most recently, Tony has focused on building on the company’s success in the UK to expand rapidly into North America.
Commenting on the news, Egress CEO Tony Pepper states: “It’s a privilege to be included in the 2018 cohort for The LDC Top 50 Most Ambitious Business Leaders. It’s been an incredible journey growing the company to this point and I’m very excited about what’s still to come. It’s fantastic to be a part of such a dedicated team at Egress, and I’m confident that our strategy, focus and hard work will continue to help the business over-achieve on its ambitious growth targets.”
With over 17 years’ experience in taking high-tech data security products to market, Tony has a strong track record of successfully creating innovative technology solutions designed to meet the demands of modern businesses. Characterised as a highly inspirational leader and very much a team player, Tony is a member of several industry focus groups; certified BCS Fellow; frequent speaker at technology seminars; and trusted advisor to SMEs, enterprise organisations, and UK Government.
After graduating from Liverpool University in 2002, Tony began his career at Reflex Magnetics Ltd. As Director of UK Sales and VP of WW Channels, he was responsible for worldwide commercial activity and instrumental in repositioning the organisation’s legacy product portfolio. Having grown global sales substantially, Tony and the executive management team led Reflex Magnetics to be acquired by Pointsec Mobile Technologies in November 2007, who were then subsequently acquired by Check Point Software.
Tony co-founded Egress Software Technologies with Neil Larkins and John Goodyear, who he met while working at Reflex Magnetics. In 11 years, he has created an organisation that is now positioned as a category leader and expanding globally.
