London, UK – August 29, 2023 – Top cybersecurity company Egress announced today that it is one of the leading partners involved in the Security 4 Security (S4S) event being held on September 12th, 2023.
A not-for-profit event aimed at disrupting the market by challenging preconceptions around cybersecurity, it brings together CISOs and senior security professionals to foster and build a long-term community.
With a unique agenda, this one-day event, which is being held in Bishopsgate, London, is different. It aims to guide, inform, share insights, push boundaries, and enable cybersecurity professionals to stay one step ahead of cybercriminals. Workshop-driven, the event provides support and a forum for discussion that the consumers of cybersecurity products and services need from technology companies and their peers in the industry.
Additionally, this is just the start of many events, forums, and workshops to come in order to help senior cybersecurity professionals build their strategies and be better equipped to fight cybercrime.
The keynote speaker on the day is Chris Novak, a cybersecurity advisor to President Biden, who will provide insights into the cyber threat landscape. Chris draws on his decades of industry experience in incident response as well as the breadth of work conducted by his global cybersecurity team. He will touch on the key takeaways from the Verizon Data Breach Investigations Report which is authored by his team and key highlights from the recently released US Cybersecurity Strategy. Other talks, roundtable discussions and workshops throughout the day will focus on topics that haven’t been explored before and are state-of-the-art in nature, again giving attendees a unique insight into the vision of the future of cybersecurity.
Egress CEO, Tony Pepper, comments: “Most security conferences these days are sales platforms or brand-building exercises for vendors to showcase their technology. You rarely get the opportunity to hear customer stories or really get under the skin of the challenges customers are facing. I’m excited to engage in honest, real-world conversations about the issues customers face today, how they overcame those challenges or are still grappling with them, and the success or failures they’ve had as a result. The audience is there to ask questions, to learn so that they can go away and build out their cybersecurity strategies. There are going to be some illuminating and thought-provoking sessions.”
Mark Walmsley, Global Chief Information Security Officer and Managing Director for Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP and Board Member for S4S adds: “We handpicked those partners and companies that we wanted to get involved in this community. Those we believe are not only vital to the industry but companies who will add value to our conversations. On the day, there will be no sales pitches, and no product plugs, our focus is solely on helping CISOs overcome challenges and prepare for the future. We’re on a journey of education and knowledge-sharing and I’m eager to see how the S4S community continues to unfold.”
Egress will be delivering a workstream from 11.20am to 12.00pm entitled: “A new approach for managing human risk in email” and Tony will talk about how people represent the biggest risk to organizations and are most vulnerable when using email. The session will also cover:
- Advanced inbound and outbound threats that organizations are experiencing today
- Why traditional email security can't keep pace
- How real-time nudges augment security awareness and training to sustainably reduce risk
- The next evolution of cloud email security that focuses on managing human risk through automation
