London, UK – April 26, 2023 – Egress has been recognized as one of the 2023 UK’s Best Workplaces™ today by Great Place to Work®, the global authority on workplace culture, ranking 50th in the Large category. This marks the second year that Egress has been listed on the UK’s Best Workplaces and solidifies its place as one of the top employers in the country.
Key highlights from the survey include:
- Employees surveyed felt they are treated fairly regardless of their race or ethnic origin (94%), age (93%), sexual orientation (98%), or gender (93%)
- 92% reported feeling they could take time off work when they felt it necessary
- 94% said that when you join the organization, you are made to feel welcome
- 87% believe people care about each other
- 86% feel that they can be themselves at work
- 79% look forward to coming to work at Egress
- 84% said that taking everything into account, they would say Egress is a great place to work
This recognition is based entirely on anonymous employee feedback compiled by Great Place to Work®. The survey asked employees to comment on how their company supports their work-life balance, sense of fulfilment, job satisfaction, psychological safety, and financial security. Evaluations also included an assessment of how well the organization was able to deliver consistency of employee experience across all departments and seniority levels.
Egress is dedicated to fostering a welcoming and supportive workplace environment for every team member. As a listening organization, various formal and informal channels are provided to gather feedback and empower its employees, such as pulse surveys, focus groups, and anonymous Q&As. The ethos of inclusion and attentive listening is reflected in the fact that 87% of employees believe that their colleagues genuinely care about each other and 94% felt welcome when joining. Moreover, Egress maintains a strong commitment to treating all employees fairly and equitably, regardless of their race, ethnic origin, sexual orientation, gender, or age. As a result, 86% of employees feel comfortable being themselves at work.
Several initiatives were introduced last year to encourage employees to maintain a healthy work-life balance, such as flexible working and paid time back, increased holiday entitlement, and an enhanced maternity package. Egress also launched eFlex, a scheme that enables employees to flexibly take up to 15 additional days of paid leave throughout the year. Consequently, 92% of Egress employees reported feeling they could take time off work when they felt it necessary.
In 2022, the company also took the opportunity to review and reinvigorate their values, creating a set that reflects the beliefs of their founders and resonates with their employees. To ensure these core values are regularly discussed, Egress has introduced an OnPoint values recognition platform, rewarding employees for living these values. Finally, Culture Club, a volunteer group made up of passionate employees, organizes events and socials to promote diversity, inclusion, and psychological safety.
