Egress now have two Outlook Add-ins (COM and Web).
When should we use each add-in?
Egress provide two add-ins for Microsoft Outlook which can be used independently or in conjunction with one another to give optimal user experience and security coverage. Both add-ins are centrally managed and can be deployed to use the same policy configuration.
Egress Outlook Add-in (COM)
The Egress Outlook Add-in (COM) is a native add-in designed for Microsoft Windows, Classic versions of Outlook. Please see below a list of features currently available across both add-ins.
Egress Outlook Add-in (Web)
Deployed directly from the MS Office365 Store, this lightweight add-in can be deployed to the mailbox and automatically available for Mac, Outlook Web Access (OWA) and Windows if the COM add-in is not deployed.

Using both add-ins together
The Egress COM and Web add-ins can be deployed seamlessly together across an organisation.
If the Web add-in detects the COM add-in installed, it automatically disables the Web add-in for the Windows version of Outlook. However, if the user switches to OWA or a Mac, the Web add-in will be available to provide a consistent experience.

The latest Egress for Windows client (version 24.08.1833) brings updated features such as integration with Microsoft's AIP classification system and the ability to decrypt emails permanently.
Just so you know, the installer includes Secure Email, Large File Transfer and Egress Prevent, and will uninstall any previous client versions.

Secure Mail goes Mobile
Use Egress Secure Mail as your exclusive email app. Send and receive emails using Egress for quick and easy access to your content at the tap of a finger.
You can encrypt and decrypt secure emails received through Microsoft Outlook, and protect emails with the appropriate level of security using a simple drop-down menu on the go.
Don't forget you can revoke access to sent encrypted emails, monitor whether sent emails have been accessed, and view a full email audit trail on your mobile too. You're still able to use our ‘reader only’ mode should you wish.
